Sunat Berkhatan or Circumcision

Sunat or Berkhatan - Circumcision a different experience

3 June 08, Tuesday, 12.00pm Spoke to my colleague Bro Jam. He instead went to KK Women & Children's Hospital to get his son circumcise. However he took a longer route. Firstly he registered at local polyclinic, who in turn make arrangement to book an appointment for his son.

As December holiday was the chosen month, it was fully booked. "As expected" he said. KK gave him an appointment the following year June. Was kind of 1 year too long. No choice, it was at a subsidised rate & also Medisave deduction for the balance payment. Cost him around $300 plus. (now probably - $400)

Well Alhamdullilah, everything went smooth also. Done by an Indian Doctor. Using laser technology and his son recovered early and was well and about in matter of few days.Amazing !! A far cry from the olden days in our time. Parents nowadays have far less worry.

Got one Bro relatives who sent his son to Dr Aziz in Kembangan. News that he got to fork out close to $1000 for the surgery to be done in East Shore Hospital - Telok Kurau. Well parents go all the way to ensure the best for their kids especially in terms of medical & education.

Tips from Doctor -

*** If a young boy never stretch his genital at full length, the skin might have problems sticking in and this might pose a bit of complication and take longer time to recover.

SUNAT/BERKHATAN

28 May 08, Wednesday, 2.00pm Ashydiq took a big step to becoming a big brother to Aidid.. I brought him to Dr Sidek’s Clinic in East Point, Simei. He conquered his fears and faced Dr Saifuddin Sidek himself for his circumcision – laser style. As Mama Zaiton was hurrying from her office (she was on half day leave), Ashydiq uttered prayers – “ Bismillah & Al-Fatehah “ gathering courage, ready for “ Sunat or Berkhatan “.

Alhamdulilah, armed with kain pelikat (I bought 2 pcs at $8 each on Monday night at Tanjong Katong Shpng Centre) Ashydiq came out walking steadily from the treatment room. He did it !! Bravo!! He was given a “Certificate of Bravery” & goody bags to reward for his bravery act. (the laser surgery went for abt 30 min in all).

After receiving a bottle of pain killer and cream to apply, I had to settle $35.00 cash only as the rest of payment - $500 (thru Medisave Deduction). Dr Shaifuddin Sidek is a man with few words but his work was flawless. There was no hanger jutting out. He used half cut plastic cup to cover Ashydiq’s bird.

At around 4.00pm, Ashydiq wriggled with pain, Kesian, I gave him the painkiller. He was in tears despite all the fan blasting at him until abt 4.40pm, the pain subsided.

By Saturday Ashydiq already showers, loose the cups, wear underwear & pants getting ready for Doa Selamat by Pak Andak. The Kenduri Doa Selamat synchronised with his 9th Birthday celebration on Fri – 30 May and he truly enjoyed it.

Personally I though it was a service well delivered. A high tech laser circumcision surgery (lesser pain for boys) proven for early and fast recovery.

Alhamdulilah. Would highly recommend parents looking for complete ease in sunat procedure for their boys.
